Morrisons launches premium dinner for £10: what's included in the cheapest offer.
Premium offer from Morrisons
According to The Sun: The supermarket Morrisons has unveiled its first premium offer, which has become one of the most affordable on the market.
Customers can now purchase a meal deal that includes a starter, main course, side, and dessert for just £10 from the 'The Best' range.
Morrisons has launched a meal deal for £10This promotion launched in stores and online this week and is £5 cheaper than similar offers at Sainsbury’s and Tesco.
However, customers wishing to take advantage of this deal should hurry — the promotion is only valid until October 5.
Morrisons offers a variety of starters, including Scottish mussels in red wine with chorizo sauce, tempura king prawns, and a tart with goat cheese, cheddar, and caramelized onions.
Among the nine main dishes are ranch steak, chicken, bacon and leek pie, as well as spinach and ricotta cannelloni.
The offer will last only until Sunday, October 5Getty
All dishes can be paired with fries, a green vegetable medley, or flatbread with garlic and herbs.
To complete the meal, customers can choose one of the desserts: chocolate cherry panna cotta, a treacle tart, or a Sicilian lemon cheesecake.
This premium offer is Morrisons' first step towards moving beyond traditional Valentine's Day evening meal deals that cost £15.
Amy Austin, Morrisons' director of fresh product commercial, stated: “As we move into autumn and daily life starts to get busy again, we know customers are looking for simple ways to enjoy high-quality meals at home.”
“For those craving something indulgent and comforting as the cold nights draw in, our £10 The Best Dine-In Meal Deal offers great value and flavour.”
Rising prices of promotional meal deals
Customers expressed outrage over the price hikes of Sainsbury’s meal deals in August.
A meal deal for two people, including a main course, side, dessert, and drink, rose to £15 from £12 in just a week.
Tesco has also increased its prices, while Waitrose and M&S offer their meal deals for £15.
Customers voiced dissatisfaction that the 25% price hike does not reflect the inflation rate.
In a statement released at the time, the supermarket justified its decision, saying: “With thousands of delicious possible combinations to choose from, customers can continue to save on dining out for two by selecting their favourite main, side, dessert and drink from our Taste the Difference range for £15.”
Tesco and Waitrose noted that the prices of their offers reflect the quality of the product.
The premium offer from Morrisons is an attempt to attract new customers and meet the demand for quality, yet affordable meals. In an environment where competition among supermarkets is increasing, such promotions could prove crucial in ensuring consumer loyalty.
Price increases on promotional deals at Sainsbury's and Tesco may cause customers to seek better offers from other chains, such as Morrisons, especially if the offer remains appealing.
