Veterans Support: Commissions to Select Future Specialists Will Operate in Ukraine.

Commissions in Ukraine will start operating on October 21 to select specialists who will support war veterans and demobilized individuals. The main goal of the commissions is to determine the potential of future project participants during interviews. This was reported by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs.

«The support specialist will be the first person after the family to start consistent interaction with veterans, defenders after their return from the front. The specialist will provide them with individual support, first consultation, and assistance in their integration into civilian life», - said Alena Skorzova, director of the Department of Transition from Military Service to Civilian Life at the Ministry of Veterans Affairs.

Information indicates that commissions for the selection of specialists for veteran support are being created by structural units of state and military administrations, which are entrusted with the issue of veteran policy.

These commissions will act in accordance with methodological recommendations prepared by the Ministry of Veterans, and using a specific evaluation scale.

The Ministry notes that currently, 1104 individuals have applied for the competitive selection to work as specialists in supporting war veterans and demobilized individuals.

Meanwhile, according to a statement from a government representative in the Verkhovna Rada, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated over 97.345 million hryvnias of subsidies to local budgets to support the work of specialists in accompanying veterans and actions to support Ukraine's defenders.

«In 2024, the state budget allocates a subsidy to local budgets in the amount of 97.345 million hryvnias to ensure the activities of specialists in supporting veterans and individual measures to support those who defended the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Ukraine», - he stated.

The government also made changes to a number of resolutions concerning veteran support. In particular, the term «veteran assistant» is now replaced by the term «specialist in supporting war veterans and demobilized individuals».

Last week in Kyiv, a veteran conference was held during which an appeal to the authorities was published.

Also, a veteran of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and defender of Donetsk airport, Dmytro Ivich Verbych, spoke in an interview about the military's attitude towards the Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine's Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrsky.
