Vadim Markovich Gutzeit - President of the NOC of Ukraine, Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine (2020-2023). Saber fencer, coach, Olympic champion in team competition in 1992. Participant in three Olympic Games (1992, 1996, 2000). Honored Master of Sports of the USSR (1992). Honored Coach of Ukraine (2003). International referee. President of the Ukrainian Fencing Federation (2017-2023).

Place of Birth. Education. Vadim Gutzeit was born on October 6, 1971, in Kyiv. In 1993, he graduated from the National University of Physical Culture and Sports of Ukraine.

Sports Career. He started training in fencing under Alexander Obolensky in 1980. Later he trained under Mikhail Kohut. He competed for 'Dynamo' (Kyiv).

Sports Achievements. World Championships: 1991 - 3rd place in the individual standings (from the USSR).

1999 - 11th place in the individual standings.

Olympic Games. Olympic Games in Barcelona (1992) - winner in team competition (from the Unified Team of the former USSR).

Olympic Games in Atlanta (1996) - 6th place in the individual standings (from Ukraine).

Olympic Games in Sydney (2000) - 13th place in the individual standings.

Career. After finishing his competitions, he moved into coaching. From 2002 to 2010, he was the head coach of the Ukrainian national fencing team. In 2008, the Ukrainian women's team under his leadership won gold at the Olympic Games in Beijing.

2018-2020 - Head of the Department of Youth and Sports of the Kyiv City Administration.

On March 4, 2020, the Parliament approved a new composition of the government, and Vadim Gutzeit was appointed Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine.

Since November 17, 2022, he has been the President of the NOC of Ukraine.

On November 9, 2023, the Parliament urged Vadim Gutzeit to resign as Minister of Youth and Sports.

Political Career. In the V-VI Councils, he was an assistant to the deputy of the Party of Regions Elbrus Tedeev (on social principles).

Candidate for Parliament for Servants of the People in the 2019 parliamentary elections, No. 81 on the list. He declined to participate in the elections, stating that he would prefer to work in the executive rather than the legislative branch.

Family. Married to Ukrainian journalist, radio, and television presenter Oksana Gutzeit. The couple is raising their daughter Elina (2002) and son Mark (2010).
