Willard Carroll 'Will' Smith Jr. is an American actor, producer, and hip-hop performer. A two-time Oscar winner, five-time Golden Globe winner, and Grammy Award recipient. In 2008, Will Smith topped Forbes' list of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood, earning 80 million dollars a year. Smith became the first actor in Hollywood history to have nine consecutive films gross over 100 million dollars at the global box office.

Willard Carroll Smith Jr. was born on September 25, 1968, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as the second of four children in the family. His mother, Caroline, was a school teacher, and his father, Willard Carroll Smith Sr., was a refrigeration specialist who owned his own business. Their marriage ended when Will was 13 years old. Smith attended Overbrook High School in Philadelphia.
Musical Career.
As a teenager, Will became interested in music, especially rap. Along with his friend, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and later with Clarence Holmes, he formed the group DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince. The group gained significant popularity among youth, performing comedic rap skits, and even won a Grammy Award in 1988. Smith achieved such tremendous success with the group that he turned down a scholarship to college after graduating high school.
