Date of Birth: 02.05.1943

Place of Birth. Education. Born in the village of Dedovsk, Istra District, Moscow Region. In 1969 he graduated from Donetsk State University (historian, history teacher).

Career. 1960-1961 - Apprentice of the locksmith at the construction combine Stalinugol.

1961-1962 - Miner of mine No. 40.

1969-1971 (after three years of military service and completing his studies) - Secretary of the Komsomol Committee of Donetsk University.

1971-1982 - Aspirant, Assistant, Lecturer, Associate Professor at Donetsk State University.

1982-1985 - Lecturer at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

1985-1987 - Head of the Department of Communist Education of the USSR Ministry of Higher Education.

1987-1992 - Senior researcher, Lecturer, Professor at the Department of In-Service Teacher Training in Social Sciences at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

In 1992 - Senior Advisor for Trade Union Affairs to the President of Ukraine (Leonid Kravchuk).

1992-1998 - Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine. From 1998 to 2004 - on a voluntary basis.

Since 1994, Stoyan has been a member of the Ukrainian Parliament (six consecutive terms). At various times, he belonged to different factions and deputy groups (Solidarity, among others), but remained independent for a long time. In the spring of 2002, he became a member of the Verkhovna Rada of the IV convocation on the list of the Opposition Bloc of Viktor Yushchenko Our Ukraine, but by December of that year, he had already switched to the faction of the Regions of Ukraine.

In recent years, he is a member of the Party of Regions. In 2006 and 2007, he entered Parliament through the Party of Regions' voter lists. In the Verkhovna Rada of the VI convocation, he was the chairman of the Subcommittee on Social Protection and Social Guarantees, Living Standards, and the Return of Bank Savings to the Population of the Social Policy and Labor Committee.

From December 2012 to November 2014, he was a member of the Ukrainian Parliament of the VII convocation from the Party of Regions (No. 72 on the list). Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Social Policy and Labor of Parliament. Member of the Audit Committee of the Verkhovna Rada. Member of the Party of Regions.

On January 16, 2014, he voted for the 'Dictatorship Laws' - a package of anti-democratic laws that significantly restricted the rights of citizens and freedom of speech.

Honors. Doctor of Historical Sciences (1990), Professor (2001). Awarded the Order of 'For Merits' III class (1998), II class (2003), I class (2011).

Family. Politician married. Wife - Oksana Kokhanova, born 1953 in Kyiv, assistant and advisor to a member of the Ukrainian Parliament.
