PrivatBank Announces Major Service Outage for System Maintenance.
Scheduled System Maintenance at PrivatBank
According to Novyny.live: PrivatBank has announced a scheduled technical maintenance window that will cause a significant disruption to its card and ATM services. The work is set to begin at 00:05 on the night of January 17, 2026, and is expected to last until approximately 06:30 on January 18, resulting in an outage exceeding six hours. During this entire period, all transactions using PrivatBank payment cards will be unavailable.
The following services will be offline during the maintenance:
- All ATMs
- Self-service terminals
- PrivatBank POS terminals
Bank customers are strongly advised to plan ahead and complete any necessary financial transactions before the maintenance begins. Such planned outages are a standard industry practice for major system upgrades and security enhancements.
Customer Incentive Program
In related news, PrivatBank is running a promotion where customers can win between 25,000 and 100,000 Ukrainian hryvnias by making at least seven payments with a Mastercard via the 'Privat24' application. However, access to 'Privat24' and accounts may be temporarily blocked for users who have not updated their personal data. Therefore, the bank recommends ensuring all personal information is current prior to the maintenance period.
This essential maintenance is crucial for ensuring the continued reliability and security of the bank's services and customer transactions.
Customers should prepare for the temporary inconvenience caused by this service interruption. The bank's concurrent promotion is designed to encourage user activity through card payments, which may help offset the expected drop in transaction volume during the outage window.
