Conflict after the match between Manchester City and Monaco
According to The Sun: At the end of the match between Manchester City and Monaco, which ended in a draw, a brawl erupted. Manchester City was unable to claim victory in the Champions League as Eric Dier converted a penalty in stoppage time.
AFP AFPEric Dier received a penalty after being struck in the face by City midfielder Nico Gonzalez. Dier confidently converted the penalty, leveling the score after two goals from Erling Haaland.
ManCity fans were outraged by the referee's decision that preceded the penalty. Initially, referee Jesus Gil Manzano did not blow the whistle, but after a VAR intervention, the decision was changed.
Violence Eruption
While reviewing the replays, the conflict between the players of both teams escalated as Donnarumma refused to relinquish the ball. The incident occurred near the benches, where Ruben Dias was involved in a dispute with Keprine Diatta from Monaco.

Nonetheless, Dier remained focused and converted the penalty, outsmarting Donnarumma.
Pep Guardiola's Comments
Pep Guardiola expressed dissatisfaction with the referee's decision after the match. He noted that the free kick was 'unfair' and that Gonzalez touched the ball first before the contact with Dier occurred. Guardiola emphasized:
'It was a good game. We made some decisions and created many chances. Unfortunately, we defended an unfair free kick at the end, not perfectly.'
Guardiola also added that his team was satisfied with a point and was ready to accept the result. When asked about the referees, he deflected comment.
City player Erling Haaland shared his thoughts on the penalty:
'I didn’t see it, but if someone hits you in the face, it’s probably a penalty.'
