Both victims were urgently taken to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital where they received treatment.
The assailant, a 42-year-old resident of the Shuafat camp, was stopped by an off-duty police officer.
This officer was at the hotel with his family when he noticed something unusual happening.
“I was at a family event in the hotel when I noticed how a crowd was leaving,” the police officer said.
He added:
“I immediately understood that something unusual was happening, so I urged people to stay calm and walk, not run. I drew my weapon, took out my ID, and ran towards the direction from which the crowd was fleeing.”
“To minimize the risk to other civilians, I stopped the terrorist only using physical force, not fire,” he emphasized.
Local residents reported hearing the attacker shout “Allahu Akbar” before the assault began.
One of the hotel guests told Arutz Sheva:
“We were sitting down to eat, and suddenly there was commotion, we didn’t understand what was happening.”
He noted:
“We saw someone with a knife, ready to enter the balcony where we were, and an Arab worker, the restaurant manager, caught him and saved us.”
Israel’s emergency service, Magen David Adom, reported:
“Paramedics and EMTs are treating two victims of stab wounds and evacuating them to the hospital: the 60-year-old man in serious condition and the 23-year-old in moderate condition.”
The Israeli police stated that “a person from the Shuafat area carried out a stabbing attack on guests in the hotel in Kibbutz Tzuba, injuring them.”
