Toyota unveiled a new Corolla: what the unexpected premiere hides.
According to Korrespondent.net: During a recent broadcast from Japan dedicated to the premiere of the Lexus LFR supercar, Toyota unexpectedly presented a new model of the Corolla. Although it was officially called a concept, the car's appearance has all the signs of a production model: standard side mirrors, proportions typical of finished vehicles, and well-thought-out body detailing, reports Motor1.
Interestingly, the fuel cap is located on the front fender, which may indicate an electric or hybrid powertrain. Given the presence of the Prius model in Toyota's lineup, it is likely that the new Corolla will become fully electric.
However, it is hard to imagine that the company would give up internal combustion engines. The Corolla is the most popular name in automotive history, and Toyota is unlikely to risk transitioning it exclusively to electric power. Considering the company's cautious approach to full electrification, the traditional gasoline version will most likely remain in the lineup.

Among the interesting design solutions are pixel LED daytime running lights, a ducktail spoiler, and a sloping window line that gives the car a sportier look. The short hood may indicate the use of a new platform for electric vehicles; however, it is also possible that a new compact four-cylinder engine, which Toyota has been developing recently, will be placed under it.
The full premiere of the new Corolla will take place on October 29 at the Japan Mobility Show 2025, where the company promises to reveal more technical details and confirm whether the model will become an electric vehicle.
