Toyota presented a unique Century coupe: what is known about the new model.
According to Korrespondent.net: Toyota is preparing a new revolutionary car - a luxurious coupe under the Century brand, which is traditionally associated with elite sedans for the Japanese elite. Motor1 reports this.
History of Century
Since its launch in 1967, the Century model has become a symbol of Japanese automotive prestige. The second generation of the car even received a V12 engine - the first and only in Toyota's history. In 2023, the company introduced the Century crossover, and now has showcased a teaser for the coupe, which may become a unique order for a private buyer or a concept car.
Design Features
The new car has unusual features for its class: a high seating position, no central pillar, passenger sliding doors, and a sloping roofline. Teaser images also show a rectangular steering wheel and likely a central positioning of the driver's seat.

Design solutions include the abandonment of a rear window; instead, the focus is on wide taillights and two-diode optics, reminiscent of Genesis and Polestar styling. A large grille with a golden emblem hints at the presence of a powerful engine - likely a hybrid V6 or V8, similar to the engines used in the Century crossover.
Plans for the Future
Although the model is named 'single', Toyota does not hide its intention to expand the Century line and take it beyond Japan. After the success of crossovers in the Chinese market, the company is preparing for new steps in globalizing the brand.
The premiere of the Century Coupe will take place at the end of October at the Japan Mobility Show, where the new concept Toyota Corolla is also planned to be presented.
