Toyota presented the new Land Cruiser FJ
According to Korrespondent.net: Toyota officially unveiled the new Land Cruiser FJ — a compact SUV that will be the younger brother of the well-known Land Cruiser 250. The model's premiere will take place at the Japan Mobility Show, with sales planned for mid-2026.
Dimensions and Design
The new SUV has a length of 4570 mm, a width of 1930 mm, and a height of 1850 mm. The wheelbase is 2580 mm, making it approximately 28 centimeters shorter than the Land Cruiser 250.
The FJ is built on the Hilux Champ platform and features a classic 'boxy' design with round headlights, a massive bumper, and a spare tire mounted on the rear doors. The interior impresses with Toyota's traditional style: a large dashboard, a prominent gear shift lever, and a horizontal multimedia screen.

Technical Specifications and Practicality
The model is equipped with a 2.7-liter gasoline engine generating 161 hp and 245 Nm of torque. The engine works in conjunction with a six-speed transmission and a part-time all-wheel drive.
In addition to technical specifications, Toyota emphasizes practicality. The front and rear bumper corners can be separately removed, simplifying their replacement in case of damage. The FJ also features MOLLE panels for securing gear and optionally offers a snorkel for deep-water driving.
Market Orientation
Project chief engineer Masaya Utiyama noted that the Land Cruiser FJ will not be sold in the USA and Europe, as the model is primarily aimed at Asian markets.
Electric Model Land Hopper
In addition to the new FJ, Toyota announced the development of an electric model called the Land Hopper, designed for travel to places 'where even the Land Cruiser cannot reach.' The release date for this model has not yet been announced.
