Toyota has introduced the unique Hilux Champ Pickup with a record-breaking turning radius.
According to Korrespondent.net: Toyota has expanded its budget pickup series Hilux Champ and has unveiled the new Super Short Wheelbase (Super SWB) version in Thailand, as reported by Carscoops.
Features of the novelty
The length of the new model is 4520 mm, and the wheelbase is 2580 mm, which is 450 mm shorter than the standard version and 780 mm shorter than the long-wheelbase version. This allows the new pickup to have a record-breaking turning radius of 4.7 m – an improvement compared to other variants (4.9 m and 5.4 m).
Despite its compact size, the cargo area of 1867 mm exceeds the values of many mid-sized double-cab pickups, although it falls short of the longest version Hilux Champ LWB.

Equipment and Features
This modification is available in a single configuration Attractive Package. It includes LED lighting, black body trim, 14-inch steel wheels, and a simple yet functional interior. Inside – black upholstery with orange accents, air conditioning, power windows, a pair of speakers, USB-C, and basic safety systems: ABS, EBD, two airbags, and
Forward Collision Warning.
Engine and Price
Under the hood of the pickup lies a 2.4-liter turbo diesel with 150 hp and 343 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The drive is rear-wheel, and the base of the pickup is the shortened frame platform of the Hilux.
In Thailand, the starting price for the Hilux Champ Super SWB model is around $19,000, making it the most expensive in the range. For comparison: the cheapest variant Champ LWB MT Chassis & Cab starts at $16,000, while the standard Hilux Revo in the Single Cab version costs $18,000.
It is also worth noting that Toyota previously announced plans to develop a new compact pickup that will hit the market in 2027.
