Toyota updates hybrid Aqua: new design, lower consumption and more safety.
According to Korrespondent.net: The updated hybrid car Toyota Aqua was unveiled in Japan. The most impressive innovation is the new front end styled after the Prius.
Technical Specifications
The hatchback is built on the basis of Toyota Yaris and equipped with a 1.5-liter three-cylinder naturally aspirated engine complemented by an electric motor. The total power reaches 116 hp, and the average fuel consumption is only 2.8 l/100 km. The car has front-wheel drive, and an all-wheel-drive version is also available.
Appearance and Interior
The design of the Aqua has become even more expressive: all configurations received an updated front end. The strongest version Z is equipped with dual-level headlights with LED turn indicators. The optics are combined with LED elements, and the rear doors have an elegant insert in the 'piano black' style. The new color palette ranges from gray to blue, available in both monochrome and two-tone versions.
Currently, the cabin features a 7-inch display and an HDMI input on the center console. In the G, X, and U variants, the multimedia screen is increased to 8 inches with support for modern navigation systems.

Safety and Innovations
The updates also touched the safety system. Now the collision prevention system can recognize not only cars but also motorcycles and warn about head-on collisions. The adaptive cruise control has four distance levels to the car ahead, and the sign recognition system can now read traffic light signals and block erroneous maneuvers.
For convenience in interaction with the driver, the electronic parking brake, brake hold function, and smooth stop technology have been improved. The width of the car with folded mirrors has been reduced by 30 mm, facilitating movement in the city.
A new U version for the KINTO service has also been introduced, which received the capability for further hardware updates, similar to Prius, Yaris, and Yaris Cross.
Price
The price for the updated model starts from $16,900 and goes up to $20,600.
It should be noted that earlier the Prius, which runs on ethanol, was introduced.
