Toyota allows upgrading the GR Corolla to the 2025 level: details of the program

According to Korrespondent.net: Toyota has decided to support its fans of the GR Corolla model by introducing upgrade kits for older model years. This initiative was announced by the company's chairman, Akio Toyoda, who emphasizes to the engineers:

'Don't forget about current owners.'

Upgrade Program

Chief Engineer Naoyuki Sakamoto stated that the upgrade program started back in 2024. Then, owners of 2023 models were given the opportunity to install new components from the latest version, including new steering rack bolts and rear suspension, front air ducts, and aluminum tape for improved aerodynamics.

Further Improvements

In 2025, Toyota plans to introduce even more upgrades: enhanced rear suspension with increased anti-squat, as well as stiffer springs and dampers from the current version will be available at dealerships. Owners of 2023-2024 vehicles will be able to upgrade their cars to the 2025 level thanks to easy installation of new components. The program also includes the GR Yaris model.

Upgrade Availability

However, not all upgrades will be available. For example, the 2026 audio system with simulated engine sound and additional body adhesives are not suitable for older models. Nevertheless, the main mechanical elements significantly improve the car's behavior. Journalists who tested the updated versions noted that even basic parts significantly enhance performance.

The cost of the kit offered last year was $275, but prices for the new ones have not yet been announced. According to the company, about 20% of GR Corolla owners have already taken advantage of this opportunity, which is quite a significant figure considering the popularity of the sports car.

It is worth noting that earlier information about the updated design of the Toyota Corolla in China appeared.

Toyota plans to expand electric vehicle production in Europe, focusing on further integration of new technologies and environmental standards.
