According to Korrespondent.net: Toyota has introduced an interesting project called the Turbo Trail Cruiser - a modernized version of the legendary Land Cruiser FJ60 from the 1980s. This concept combines recognizable retro design with modern technologies and a significant power increase.

Powerful Engine

At the core of the project is a 3.4-liter gasoline V6 twin-turbo engine called i-Force, borrowed from the Toyota Tundra pickup. This new engine is capable of delivering 389 hp and 650 Nm of torque, nearly doubling the output of the original six-cylinder motor.

Engineering Solutions

Engineers from Toyota Motorsports Garage developed special mounting brackets for the engine, an adapter plate for connecting to the classic 5-speed manual transmission, as well as new elements such as an oil pan and a cooler. This allowed for the integration of the power unit without interfering with the body or frame of the vehicle.

Design and Interior Changes

The vehicle's suspension has been raised by 38 mm, improving its off-road geometry. The classic SUV is now equipped with 35-inch tires and polished rims, while the halogen headlights remain unchanged, preserving the original style.

The interior design of the vehicle also reflects the style of the 80s, although it has received modern audio from JBL and a touchscreen integrated into the original dashboard.

The Turbo Trail Cruiser will be part of more than twenty concepts that Toyota will showcase at the SEMA 2025 exhibition in Las Vegas, along with the previously announced Camry GT-S.
