Trump and Rubio have appointed a temporary head of the American Embassy in Kyiv.

U.S. President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have appointed Julie Davis as the temporary U.S. ambassador to Ukraine. This was announced by State Department spokesperson Tami Bruce. Julie Davis has 30 years of diplomatic experience and will lead the American embassy in Kyiv at a crucial moment when the U.S. and Ukraine are working on a peace agreement to end the conflict.
The American embassy in Ukraine stated that Julie Davis will strive to end the war and strengthen relations between the countries to make America and Ukraine safer and more prosperous. Davis is an experienced diplomat who has previously served as ambassador to Belarus, special representative in Lithuania, and has experience in Georgia, Russia, and Ukraine. She has also held important positions in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs and was Deputy Permanent Representative of the U.S. to NATO.
It is important to note that Julie Davis became the temporary ambassador, as the appointment of a permanent ambassador requires Senate confirmation. The previous holder of this position was Bridget Brink, who left her post due to disagreements with the Trump administration's policies.
