Trump ordered to create an 'Iron Dome' for the US
US President Donald Trump ordered the creation of a missile defense system called the 'Iron Dome.'
He announced this during a meeting with Republican congressmen in Florida.
'We must immediately begin construction of the latest missile shield, the 'Iron Dome', which will protect Americans. We have phenomenal technologies... I believe the United States has the right to this,' said the US president.
Trump also noted that the 'Iron Dome' system will be manufactured in the US.
According to an order titled 'Iron Dome for America', the threat of various types of missile use is catastrophic for the country.
The document states that US policy included a response to threats from rogue nations and accidental or unauthorized missile launches.
The Secretary of Defense is to present the structure and implementation plan for the next-generation missile defense system within 60 days.
It is worth noting that Israel has been using the 'Iron Dome' missile defense system since 2011.
However, experts doubt whether the 'Iron Dome' would be effective and economically justified for the US, as their territory is significantly larger than that of Israel.
Earlier, it was reported that the US may reconsider its participation in certain UN structures.
