According to inkorr.com: U.S. President Donald Trump has announced his intention to discuss the situation regarding the war in Ukraine during a meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping during his visit to the Indo-Pacific region. This became known during his communication with journalists.
Trump hopes that China can help facilitate a resolution to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. He also noted that the discussion would address trade issues and critical minerals, but there may be other topics as well.
'Well, I would really like China to help us with Russia. We have imposed very serious sanctions against Russia. I think these sanctions... they are very tough. They are very strong. But I would like China to help us. I have a good relationship with Chairman Xi... we are going to meet. We are going to have a good meeting... I think we will make some good deals. One of the issues is the relationship between Russia and Ukraine,' Trump stated.
According to Suspilne, one of the issues that may be discussed during the meeting is Russian oil, but the main focus is planned to be on trade relations between the states.
According to White House officials, Trump is also considering how China could influence Russia's position on Ukraine and is hoping for support in resolving the regional conflict.
This meeting between Trump and Xi Jinping is a significant moment in international relations, especially in the context of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Cooperation between the U.S. and China in this area could significantly impact the further development of the situation and the global economy, given the critical role of both countries on the world stage.
