Trump Endorses Pashinyan: U.S. and Armenia Launch Joint Initiative.
U.S. Backing for Nikol Pashinyan
According to Espreso.tv: U.S. President Donald Trump has thrown his support behind Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, while also unveiling a new collaborative project between the United States and Armenia. In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump referred to Pashinyan as a 'great friend and leader.' This comes after U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently traveled to Armenia, where the two nations signed a Strategic Partnership Charter.
The TRIPP Project and Political Endorsement
Trump additionally announced the launch of a venture called the 'Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity' (TRIPP), to be carried out jointly with Armenia. Beyond the project, Trump declared his support for Pashinyan’s reelection, scheduled for June 7, 2026. In the same statement, he also endorsed the reelection of Viktor Orbán in Hungary, where parliamentary elections are set for April 12.
'For these reasons, I fully and unconditionally support the reelection of Nikol,' Donald Trump emphasized in his post.
Through these actions, the U.S. continues to deepen its ties with Armenia, signaling a readiness to collaborate on key international initiatives.
This backing from Washington reflects a strategic interest in the region, particularly amid growing influence from Russia and other powers in the Caucasus. The announced TRIPP project could serve as a significant step in advancing economic and political links between the U.S. and Armenia, potentially bolstering stability and security in the area.
