Trump after Venezuela: Greenland could be the next target of the US.
According to ТСН: After the elimination of dictator Nicolás Maduro in Venezuela, the American military may give Donald Trump the opportunity to focus on other countries.
Possible targets for Trump
This was reported by BILD. During a press conference aboard Air Force One on Sunday, the US president mentioned countries like Colombia, Cuba, Greenland, Mexico, and Iran.
"Trump presented a long list of potential future conquests, but the most likely target for his administration will be Greenland," says Aslı Aydıntaşbaş of the American think tank Brookings Institution.
Following the events in Venezuela, Trump again emphasized the need to annex the autonomous Danish territory – the island of Greenland – to ensure the national security of the US. He believes that Denmark will not be able to protect Greenland from threats from Russia and China.
In response, the Danish Prime Minister urged Trump to stop his threats regarding Greenland.
Trump's actions sparked a wave of discussion about the potential consequences of such an approach, both internationally and domestically. Concerns over further aggressive US statements regarding the territories of other countries may impact diplomatic relations with their governments and heighten tensions in the region.
