Trump explains to children how NORAD tracks Santa: To avoid missing a bad one.
According to ТСН: On the eve of Christmas, December 24, U.S. President Donald Trump held a traditional hotline for children tracking Santa Claus through a special service of the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD).
A video of his conversation with a 10-year-old boy from Oklahoma, published online, quickly went viral.
The President was speaking with children from his residence in Florida.
Talking about Santa
In response to a question about the device tracking Santa, Trump noted that the authorities are monitoring to ensure that no "bad Santa" enters the country.
"Well, we are tracking Santa all around the world. We want to make sure Santa is doing well. Santa is a very good person. We want to ensure that no bad Santa gets into our country,"
he explained, referencing his anti-immigrant policies.
He further emphasized that the real Santa Claus is good and loves the state of Oklahoma, from which the boy called.
"We found out that Santa is good, that Santa loves you, that Santa loves Oklahoma as much as I do. You know, Oklahoma was very good to me in the elections, so I love Oklahoma. Never leave Oklahoma, okay?"
he stressed.
NORAD tradition
Every year, the NORAD tracker monitors Santa as he travels around the world, and volunteers answer calls and provide children with information about his location.
This tradition began in 1955 when a young child accidentally called a military command center in Colorado and asked where Santa Claus was.
In conclusion, during the Christmas event on December 24, Trump noted that despite the festive atmosphere, he was forced to focus on key international issues, especially those concerning Ukraine.
Traditional events like the NORAD hotline not only create a festive atmosphere but also allow the President to engage with the younger generation. It also highlights the importance of maintaining public contacts in everyday politics. And while the Christmas celebration brings joy, important issues always remain on the agenda.
