Trump promised Ukraine a seat at the negotiations to end the war and wants to bring Russia back to the G8.
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Ukraine will be represented at the upcoming peace talks regarding the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. He also suggested meeting with the presidents of China and Russia to discuss issues related to reducing defense spending and denuclearization.
Trump also expressed a desire to bring Russia back into the G7 format. He announced possible new trade tariffs, including on the automotive industry. It is important to note that there have been phone conversations between Trump and the presidents of Russia and Ukraine, during which the desire to halt the conflict was discussed.
In response to this, foreign ministers from European countries and representatives of the EU and Ukraine emphasized the importance of Ukraine and Europe’s participation in the negotiations to resolve this conflict.
