Trump Appoints Gibson, Voight, and Stallone as Envoys to Hollywood: What This Means.
Donald Trump has appointed three Hollywood actors - Mel Gibson, Jon Voight, and Sylvester Stallone - as 'special envoys' to Hollywood.
The newly elected president announced this on Thursday on his social network, Truth Social.
According to Trump, the actors will serve as his 'eyes and ears' in the film industry and will work on reviving the 'Golden Age of Hollywood'. The exact responsibilities of the appointees remain unclear at this time.
All three actors have previously expressed support for Trump. In particular, Mel Gibson spoke critically of Vice President Kamala Harris in October. 85-year-old Jon Voight, known for films like 'Coming Home' and 'Midnight Cowboy', has actively supported Trump for years. Stallone recently referred to Trump as 'the second George Washington' during a gala dinner speech.
The appointments come amidst challenges in the Hollywood film industry. According to The Hollywood Reporter, filming is increasingly moving from Southern California to other states and countries due to better tax conditions and lower costs.
Reminder of Trump’s Victory in the Elections
Donald Trump won the 2024 US presidential election, securing 277 electoral votes out of the necessary 270.
It was reported that the US Congress officially certified Trump's victory on January 6, 2025, exactly four years after the Capitol riot by his supporters.
It should be noted that the newly elected president plans to assume office on January 20, 2025. His advisors acknowledge that the promise to end the war in Ukraine in 24 hours was election rhetoric, and resolving the conflict will take several months.
Furthermore, it is important to note that Trump's expansionist statements regarding Canada, Greenland, and the Panama Canal are causing serious concern in the international community.
