Secretary of State Marco Rubio reported that President Donald Trump wants to end the war as soon as possible.
According to 'Hvylya', he had a phone conversation with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha, as reported on the White House website.
At the same time, Rubio emphasized that peace must be ensured by both Ukraine and Russia.
'The Secretary emphasized that President Donald Trump is firmly committed to the immediate end of the war and stressed that all parties must take steps to ensure sustainable peace', the statement says.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha stated that Kyiv and Washington discussed plans for an upcoming meeting in Saudi Arabia.
According to him, Ukraine is striving to end the war, and US leadership is the key condition for sustainable peace.
'I had a productive conversation with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. We discussed the upcoming meeting of Ukrainian and US delegations in Saudi Arabia,' said the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
Earlier, Rubio surprised with a statement about Ukraine.
