U.S. President Donald Trump stated that negotiations to end the war between Russia and Ukraine have taken place and have yielded progress. He does not disclose details of these negotiations with Vladimir Putin.
This information is reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Reuters.
Western media note that this may be the first officially recognized conversation between the presidents of Russia and the U.S. since the beginning of 2022.
When asked about the conversation with Putin, Trump responded sharply.
'I had it. Let's put it this way, I had it... And I expect many other conversations. We need to end this war (between the Russian Federation and Ukraine),' said the American president.
Trump also added that 'if we're talking, I don't want to tell you about the talks.'
'I believe we are making progress. We want to stop the war between Ukraine and Russia,' said the U.S. president.
Additionally, Trump noted that the United States maintains contact with both Russia and Ukraine.
'We are communicating with both sides,' said the American leader.
