Trump imposes sanctions against the International Criminal Court over accusations against Israeli Prime Minister for war crimes
U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order imposing sanctions against the International Criminal Court due to allegations against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes.
According to The Hill, Trump called the ICC's actions against Israel and the U.S. 'illegal and baseless', as reported by Ukrinform.
No country has ever recognized the jurisdiction of the ICC, and both countries are thriving democracies with militaries that strictly adhere to the laws of war
According to the document, the United States will impose serious and significant sanctions on individuals responsible for ICC violations, including 'officials, staff, and agents of the ICC, as well as their relatives' risk having their property and assets blocked and being denied entry into the U.S.
This executive order was signed by Trump just after Netanyahu's visit to Washington.
