Bone marrow transplants to commence in Odesa: when organ transplantation will start.
Bone marrow transplant surgeries will soon be conducted in Odesa. Conditions for organ transplantation in the region are also planned to be created. This was reported by the head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, Oleg Kiper, during a meeting with recipients of donor organs.
Transplants in Odesa
In October, the first bone marrow transplant surgeries are scheduled to begin in Odesa. The development of this field and organ transplants is actively taking place. Currently, organs are simply being taken from the region and then sent to other cities, but everything possible is being done to ensure that such operations are conducted right in the Odesa region.
'Currently, this is done in Kyiv, Vinnytsia, and other regions. But we are working to become active in this process. We have also participated, but so far only took the organs and promptly sent them by helicopter to other cities', - noted Oleg Kiper. Over the last three years, thanks to 7 donors from Odesa Oblast, it has been possible to save 14 lives of Ukrainians. It is important to note that recently information was published about a donor who helped three people, as well as about an Odesa resident who received a heart transplant.
Bone marrow transplant surgeries will soon begin in Odesa, and the development of organ transplantation in the region is also planned. Medical institutions in the Odesa region intend to actively engage in these processes to give more people a chance for a new life.
