Polish President Donald Tusk dismissed statements by Russian President Vladimir Putin on the risk of escalation if Ukraine is provided with NATO long-range weapons.

According to Reuters, Tusk stated: "It is necessary to take very seriously all events in Ukraine and on the Ukrainian-Russian front, but I do not attach excessive importance to the latest statements by President Putin. They indicate a difficult situation for the Russians at the front".

Earlier, Putin stated that lifting restrictions on long-range missiles for Ukraine would mean that NATO countries would be at war with Russia. Responding to journalists' questions in Moscow, Putin said: "If such a decision is made, it would mean direct participation of NATO countries, the USA, and European countries in the war in Ukraine".

Chairman of the State Duma of Russia Vyacheslav Volodin supported Putin's words, saying: "The USA, Germany, Britain, and France are discussing the possibility of using long-range weapons to strike at our country. This is an attempt to disguise and conceal their direct participation in the war".

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is meeting with US President Joe Biden, where he will seek US support for the plan to grant Ukraine permission to use the "Storm Shadow" missile to strike targets inside Russia.

Let us recall, Zelensky stated at the YES forum that Ukraine needs long-range weapons.
