Tusk criticized statements about 'Greater Germany' ahead of the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.
The President of Poland, Donald Tusk, expressed his outrage at the statements made by the leaders of the far-right AfD party and Elon Musk about 'Greater Germany' during the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp. He considers these statements ominous and illegal.
Elon Musk spoke at a campaign event for the AfD party, urging Germans to fight for their independence and reduce dependence on Brussels. The head of the 'Yad Vashem' memorial accused Musk of insulting the victims of Nazism and creating a threat to Germany's democratic future.
Musk had previously expressed anti-Semitic views, and thus he tried to distance himself from them by visiting the Auschwitz concentration camp museum. The complex was liberated on January 27, 1945, and became a scene of death for millions of prisoners, mainly Jews.
Tusk also reported that during the official ceremony of the liberation of Auschwitz, no representative of Israel would be detained, as the Polish government reacted to the International Criminal Court's decision regarding the arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
