The meeting covered the EU's 21st sanctions package and outlined plans for a 22nd round. The president noted: 'It is very important that Ireland, as the presiding country, plays a leading role.' Under Ireland's EU presidency, two negotiation clusters were opened for Ukraine, paving the way for further assistance to the country.

Zelensky also acknowledged a fresh support package from Ireland, commenting: 'And for the new support package from Ireland—this is substantial.' This underscores Ukraine’s determination to deepen cooperation with Ireland and the European Union in addressing the challenges it faces.
