Tragic Parachute Malfunction: Two Experienced Jumpers Die in the Air.
Tragic Incident During Parachute Jumps
According to The Sun: Two experienced parachutists died due to parachute entanglement during a jump. Hermes Zappa, 70, and Violetta Laiketsiy, 63, were part of a group that performed the jump yesterday morning. Their descent ended in catastrophe. Hermes, a skydiving instructor, had over 2000 jumps in his 30 years of experience.
“It was a terrible incident. Everyone was in shock,” witnesses commented.
Rescuers and law enforcement were working at the site of the tragedy, investigating the circumstances of the event.
This event at the parachuting site has caused a significant resonance among the skydiving community, as incidents of this kind, although rare, remind of the risks associated with student sports. Parachuting always requires a high level of training and caution, and even the most experienced team members can encounter unforeseen situations.
