Ukrainians Will Be Able to Apply for a Digital Pension ID in Diia by 2026: Here's How It Works.
Digital Pension Certificates Coming to Ukraine
According to Novyny.live: Starting in 2026, Ukrainian citizens will be able to independently generate an electronic pension certificate that carries full legal weight and will appear in the Diia mobile app. This new feature offers a convenient solution for those seeking a pension document in digital form.
The digital pension ID can be obtained through the website of the Pension Fund of Ukraine or at a service center. To apply, individuals must submit an application along with scanned copies of required documents, including:
- tax identification number;
- passport;
- photograph;
- physical signature.
The processing time for the digital certificate is expected to take three to four days, but no longer than ten days from the submission date.
Once issued, the electronic document will hold the same legal authority as a traditional pension certificate. It will be integrated into the Diia mobile app, giving citizens easy access to their pension ID at any time. Notably, the digital certificate will appear automatically if issued based on age, while other categories may require manual addition.
Broader Push for Digital Government Services
This update is part of Ukraine’s wider strategy to digitize public services, aimed at simplifying and modernizing how citizens interact with government agencies. Digital documents like pension certificates reduce bureaucratic hurdles and create more convenient access to essential services—an increasingly important goal in today’s fast-paced world. The Diia app continues to expand, adding new features to improve access to state services.
