A road collapsed in Podil: a 4 by 4 meter hole formed.
According to ТСН: In Kyiv, at the intersection of Pachayinsky and Naberezhno-Khreshchatytska streets, a collapse of the water supply networks has occurred.
Local media are publishing footage of the huge hole.
The size of the collapse is approximately four by four meters, and its depth is about two meters. This has led to a major traffic jam in the Podil area.
The scene is already cordoned off for safety. One lane of traffic is closed, which significantly complicates movement on Naberezhno-Khreshchatytska and adjacent streets.
Specialists from the water utility and Road Maintenance Management (RME) are working at the site.
Other incidents in Kyiv
Not long ago, in Kyiv, during a power outage and heavy rain, unknown individuals decided to launch fireworks above residential buildings. A video of the explosion of the firework in Troyeshchyna is actively circulating on the Internet. According to the Kyiv police, no official information about the incident has been reported to the emergency line 102, but law enforcement has already started an investigation and is searching for individuals involved in the offense.
The collapse of the water supply system has become another confirmation that the city's infrastructure needs urgent repairs. The authorities of Kyiv must take measures to prevent similar incidents in the future. Similarly, the launch of fireworks during adverse weather conditions demonstrates negligence of safety rules, which can potentially endanger people's lives.
