Light snow is expected in some regions: weather forecast for February 23.
Weather forecast in Ukraine for February 23
On Sunday, February 23, moderate cloudiness without precipitation is expected in Ukraine. According to the forecast of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, the country is under the influence of high atmospheric pressure and air masses from the northeast of Arctic origin, which significantly affects temperature indicators.
In the eastern regions, light snow may be possible only during the day, and there may be ice on the roads.
According to the Ukrhydrometcentre, the wind will be variable at a speed of 3-8 m/s. The nighttime temperature will be between 13-18° frost, while in the eastern regions, it may reach 21-23° frost in some places. During the day, temperatures are expected to be between 1-6° frost, while in the western regions, it will be 0-5° warm.
Weather forecast in Kyiv and the Kyiv region
In the capital and Kyiv region, moderate cloudiness and no precipitation are forecast. There is also a possibility of ice on the roads. The wind will be variable at a speed of 3-8 m/s.
The air temperature at night will be around 13-18° frost, and during the day, temperatures are expected to be 1-6° frost. In Kyiv itself, the thermometer will show 13-15° frost at night, and during the day it will be 1-3° frost.
Warning about ice formation
The Ukrhydrometcentre warns that on February 23, due to further intensification of ice phenomena, sharp fluctuations in water levels with daily intensity may occur; however, this does not pose a threat of negative consequences. Since the air temperature is low, active ice formation processes are taking place on rivers and reservoirs, but the ice cover is not strong enough, so being on the ice may be dangerous.
