Europe shocked by statement on the end of the war in Ukraine.
President of Lithuania on the situation in Ukraine
The President of Lithuania, Gitanas Nauseda, expressed doubts about the end of the war between Russia and Ukraine. He stated that he does not see any light at the end of the tunnel and hopes for a resolution to the conflict by 2028. The President emphasized the importance of a ceasefire for a peaceful agreement, but currently, there is no such possibility due to Russia's unwillingness to compromise and simulate negotiations. Lithuania plans to introduce a new package of sanctions against Russia, and Nauseda considers it sufficient and strong if it is not weakened.
Plans of the Lithuanian leader
The President of Lithuania expressed his important remarks regarding the current state of the war in Ukraine and relations with Russia, emphasizing the need for negotiations and terms of a ceasefire to achieve a peaceful agreement. He also expressed plans to introduce new sanctions against the Russian Federation in the absence of progress in resolving the conflict.
The underlying issues of Ukrainian-Russian relations continue to strain not only the countries themselves but also the international community.
