In Europe, the controversial advertisement of the Russian media Meduza has been halted.
The German agency Lure has stopped the advertising campaign for 'Meduza' due to the use of destruction footage in Ukraine
The creative agency Lure from Germany decided to halt its advertising campaign for the Russian publication 'Meduza', which used footage of destruction in Ukraine and the story of Yaroslav Bazylevych, whose family was threatened by a Russian strike on Lviv. This was reported by Ukraine's ambassador to Germany, Oleksiy Makeiev, on his Facebook page.
Makeiev received a response from the creative director and founder of Lure, emphasizing the cessation of the demonstration of all materials related to the campaign.
We confirm that we have removed all materials related to the campaign from the network and have instructed our partners to immediately cease their demonstration on any platforms. This means the end of the campaign
The diplomat urged everyone to ensure that the campaign has indeed been canceled and to report any remaining videos or visual advertisements.
On Lure's Instagram page, it is noted that the advertisement for 'Meduza' appeared in cities from Paris to London, from Toronto to Berlin and Helsinki.
We have now removed all materials and have deleted instructions for our media partners regarding further use. We are following your suggestions and will develop ideas to support public relations efforts in Ukraine and achieve its goals
The Russian publication 'Meduza', based in Latvia, launched an advertising campaign abroad that used footage of the war in Ukraine. This was noticed by a representative of the Ukrainian public organization 'Viche Berlin', Victoria Feshak.
Feshak reported that she saw the advertisement for 'Meduza' in a cinema in Berlin, which used footage of explosions in Ukraine and Yaroslav Bazylevych at the funeral of his relatives who died as a result of a Russian missile strike on Lviv.
It turned out that this campaign was developed by the German creative agency Lure. They called this global information campaign 'Where other headlines end, Meduza begins'.
Ukraine demands the immediate removal of all such promotional content that uses the suffering of Ukrainians from all media platforms, said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Georgiy Tikhy.
