France expresses peace for Ukraine and cooperation with Trump.
The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, Jean-Noël Barro, stated that France is ready to cooperate with the new US administration to provide necessary assistance to Ukraine in its fight for victory.
France is confident that Ukraine will be able to establish 'strong' relations with the new American government, the minister said at the Paris Peace Forum.
'Faced with speculation about what the positions or initiatives of the new American administration will be, I believe that above all we must not be prejudiced and give ourselves Time to work,' Barro said.
The minister emphasized that the European Union and France will continue to provide assistance to Ukraine.
'We are ready to work with the new administration because we believe that Ukraine should receive the means to repel Russian aggression,' he emphasized.
Barro mentioned that President Zelensky has already met with Donald Trump and spoken with him after his election.
'Ukraine has strong and solid support in various political circles in the US. I have no doubts that strong relations will be established with the new administration and in our ability to defend transatlantic unity against all the challenges of the war in Ukraine,' commented Jean-Noël Barro.
He also stated that France supports Zelensky's peace formula and stands for holding Russia accountable for crimes against humanity.
'We must talk about a fair and lasting peace, pondering about the future of Ukraine. France is resolutely against impunity. We will never forget Bucha, as well as all the other crimes committed from the beginning of the full-scale war. Irpin, Izyum, Mariupol, and Olenivka. None of these crimes should be forgiven and forgotten. There is no peace without justice,' he emphasized.
