In Kharkiv, 11 thousand individual entrepreneurs were registered since the beginning of 2024.

As of November 1, 2024, there are 119,304 individual entrepreneurs registered in Kharkiv. The mayor of the city, Ihor Terekhov, reported this.

«The number of individual entrepreneurs opened in Kharkiv exceeds the number closed by 13%. As of November 1, the number of registered individual entrepreneurs in Kharkiv is 119,304, while at the beginning of 2022 there were 118,209,» noted the mayor.

However, according to Terekhov, more than 9 thousand individual entrepreneurs stopped their activities in Kharkiv, relocating their business or changing their tax address. Meanwhile, since the beginning of the year, there have been 11,019 new registered individual entrepreneurs.

It is important for the city authorities that businesses continue to operate in Kharkiv. To this end, the city government has exempted enterprises from local taxes and fees, retaining only payments for land, real estate, and rent, which go to the city budget. Additionally, free public transportation is an incentive for people to stay in Kharkiv.

Number of individual entrepreneurs in Ukraine

During the first eight months of 2024, Ukrainians opened nearly 194 thousand new individual entrepreneurs, but slightly more than 120 thousand were closed. More than a third of new individual entrepreneurs close within the first year of operation.

According to analysts at YouControl, the number of individual entrepreneurs and registered companies in Ukraine continues to decline. For example, in the summer of 2024, the registration of individual entrepreneurs decreased by 19.8% compared to the same period in 2023. It is also worth noting that the number of women among new entrepreneurs in the summer months increased to 62.49%, a record over the past four years.
