Doctor in Kyiv Demanded 30 Thousand Hryvnias for Surgery on Wounded Soldier: Details of the Case.
According to ТСН: In Kyiv, a trauma doctor valued the free assistance to a wounded soldier, who was injured near Avdiivka, at 30 thousand hryvnias.
It is known that with the assistance of the Pechersk District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv, the doctor, who works in a municipal hospital, was notified of suspicion. He repeatedly told the serviceman that the complexity of the surgery to install the Ilizarov orthopedic apparatus required additional payment.
After the surgery, when the patient was in a postoperative state, the doctor provided him with a bank card number to pay the indicated amount.
The actions of the suspect are qualified under part 3 of Article 368-4 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine as receiving unlawful benefits by a person conducting professional activities.
Recall that the soldier with severe injuries was shocked as doctors demanded money from him.
This situation has caused a wide public outcry, as it is outrageous when medical workers abuse the trust of patients, especially those who are defending the country. It is important that law enforcement agencies provide an appropriate assessment of such cases and take measures to improve ethical standards in the medical field.
