Volvo XC70 Unveiled in China.
According to Korrespondent.net: Volvo has presented the new XC70 — a crossover primarily designed for the Chinese market and aimed at families seeking a comfortable lifestyle.
The technical specifications of the new XC70 indicate that this is the company's first 'long-range' plug-in hybrid. In the front-wheel-drive version, its 314 hp engine accelerates to 100 km/h in 8 seconds. The 21.2 kWh battery allows for an electric range of up to 116 km in the WLTC cycle. The all-wheel-drive version has a power output of 456 hp and can reach 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds, with its 39.6 kWh battery providing a range of up to 180 km. The total range with the 1.5-liter gasoline engine rated at 161 hp exceeds 1200 km.
Fast DC charging allows the battery to be charged from 0 to 80% in 23 minutes. From a 7 kW AC wall charger, it will take about 7 hours. There is also a bi-directional charging function that turns the car into a mobile power source.

The vehicle's dimensions are 4815 mm in length, 1890 mm in width, and 1650 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2895 mm. The XC70 retains the brand's signature design: a closed grille, split light units, and active shutters in the lower air intake. The silhouette features smooth body lines, integrated door handles, frameless doors, and a panoramic roof. The vehicle is available with 19-21 inch wheels, chrome accents, and black glossy elements. At the rear, the model has C-shaped taillights, a spoiler with a hidden wiper, and a sloping window.
The interior of the XC70 is designed in a minimalist style. The crossover is equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, a multimedia system with a 15.4-inch display, and a projection screen with augmented reality measuring 92 inches diagonally. Among other features are a floating center console with retractable cup holders, wooden decorative inlays, wireless charging for smartphones, and a Harman Kardon audio system. Passengers can enjoy heated rear seats, multi-zone climate control, and a lighting system. A voice assistant with artificial intelligence elements is also provided to control car functions and for online searches. The trunk volume is 408 liters, and with the rear seats folded, it expands to 1456 liters.
The XC70 is built on the new modular SMA platform and is equipped with the Safe Space Technology package, which includes sensors, radars, and cameras for monitoring the environment. Among the assistance systems are lane change assist, active navigation, and automatic parking pilot.
Pre-orders for the XC70 have already opened in China, with prices starting at approximately $62500. Volvo also plans to introduce this model to the European market, but exact timelines have not yet been announced.
