A number of leading scientists in the field of AI have died under strange circumstances in China.
Recently, mysterious deaths of artificial intelligence specialists have been occurring in China. It is noted that this issue is related to the safety of researchers and the level of stress they have faced. Considering that the development of artificial intelligence has become a subject of technological warfare between China and the USA, this problem is becoming particularly relevant.
‘Sudden illness’ led to the death of leading scientist Sun Jian from Megvii Technologies, who was included in the list of top young scientists by MIT Technology Review.
There have also been recorded deaths of renowned military AI expert Feng Yanghe, founder of SenseTime Tang Xiao, and Chief Innovation Officer of Yidu Tech He Zhi. They all died from an unknown illness.
It is worth noting that the world of artificial intelligence is preparing for a major update. OpenAI plans to introduce five new artificial intelligence models that will expand the capabilities of technologies and find applications in various fields. Among them will be GPT-4.1, as well as lighter versions 4.1 nano and 4.1 mini.
