A tournament of Greco-Roman wrestling was held in Bakhchisarai in memory of the occupier
According to inkorr.com: From September 26 to 28, a tournament of Greco-Roman wrestling dedicated to the liquidated occupier Denis Shestak took place in the annexed Bakhchisarai. This was reported by the portal 'Glavkom'.
Children under 16 years old from occupied regions, including Donetsk, Luhansk, Crimea, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, as well as from Taganrog and Rostov region, participated in the competition. The tournament was named 'Tournament in Memory of the Order of Courage Holder D.G. Shestak' and was dedicated to the memory of the fallen Russian servicemen in the war against Ukraine.
The traitor Denis Shestak was a master of sports and a silver medalist of the Ukrainian Championship in Greco-Roman wrestling. He was killed on April 7, 2023, having fought against Ukraine since October 2022. The occupier's father, Georgiy Shestak, headed the so-called 'Ministry of Sports of Crimea' from 2014 to 2016.
Among the participants in the competition was Yelizaveta Tatalina, who represents the Russian military club CSKA and is actively involved in military operations on the territory of Ukraine. She has repeatedly expressed support for Russia's military aggression and received recognition from Russian President Vladimir Putin after her victory at the World Championship.
The tournament that took place in annexed Crimea united children from occupied territories and a Russian athlete associated with military structures.
This tournament caused quite a resonance, as similar events call into question sports neutrality and the political situation in the region. It underscores the use of sport as a propaganda tool in the context of armed conflict. It is important to note that the participation of children in such events raises questions about ethics and their future in conditions of war.
