Shelling by Russian troops in Zaporizhzhia region

Yesterday, Russian troops shelled the village of Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia region, resulting in the death of two people. This was reported by the head of the Zaporizhzhia regional military administration, Ivan Fedorov, on Telegram.

Fedorov noted that Russia continues to shell peaceful settlements on the front, directing its aggression towards civilian infrastructure.

Two men died as a result of enemy shelling in Mala Tokmachka. The bodies of the 44 and 46-year-old local residents could not be retrieved from the site of the death for several hours due to intense artillery shelling of the village

Not only Mala Tokmachka but other frontline areas have also felt the aggression of Russian forces. In recent days, shelling has intensified in the Kharkiv, Donetsk, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, and Kherson regions. These attacks have led to injuries and deaths among civilians, as well as the destruction of homes, schools, and hospitals.

The conflict in eastern Ukraine has been ongoing since 2014, when Russia annexed Crimea and began supporting separatists. Russia's invasion in February 2022 has led to even greater human losses and destruction. Ukraine continues to defend its territories, receiving support from the international community, particularly from NATO and EU countries, which provide arms and financial assistance.

Attacks on Zaporizhzhia and Mykolaiv

On Friday, October 4, Zaporizhzhia and Mykolaiv again came under enemy fire. Ivan Fedorov confirmed explosions in the city and region, reporting several attacks by the occupiers.

Earlier, there were reports of deaths and injuries resulting from the shelling of Zaporizhzhia on October 1. At that Time, one person died, and five were injured. The attack damaged multi-story and private homes, as well as infrastructure.

Today, October 5, Zaporizhzhia is celebrating its city day. This industrial center was founded in 1770 and became a district city in 1806.
