A blocked branch of the blood vessels supplying blood to the right hemisphere of the brain led to paralysis of the left side of the body in a 53-year-old man. The thrombus removal operation was conducted for the first time in Mykolaiv and lasted about two hours. After the operation, the patient began to gradually recover movement in his limbs and speech.

'After the patient started to come out of anesthesia, we already saw how his left leg began to work again. Then, over time, the arm started to work as well, and the ability to express his thoughts a bit more clearly returned. We achieved a very good neurological result. From a severe stroke, he transitioned to a less disabling condition.'

The patient's condition remains stable during rehabilitation. Such news becomes relevant considering previous records about organ transplants in Odesa and heart transplants for Odesa residents.
