The President of Ukraine met with Donald Trump in Florida
According to ТСН: Volodymyr Zelensky, the Ukrainian president, visited Donald Trump's home in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, to hold important peace talks. The Ukrainian leader greeted Trump with a handshake at the entrance to the luxurious estate.
During a joint appearance with Zelensky, Trump expressed the belief that Vladimir Putin is 'seriously pursuing peace.' This was reported by Sky News.
‘Too many people have died, and I think both presidents want to make a deal. I really believe that we have the groundwork for a deal that will be beneficial for Ukraine, beneficial for all. There is nothing more important,' Trump said.
Trump also emphasized that there will be a 'strong' security deal for Ukraine, noting that European countries 'will be very involved.'
‘I think the European countries have done really well with this, and they strongly support the idea of this meeting and achieving a deal. They are all great people,’ said the U.S. president.
It is also important to note that before the meeting with Zelensky, Trump had a phone conversation with Russian President Putin. After talks with the Ukrainian leader, he plans to discuss the situation in Ukraine with Putin again.
The results of this meeting could significantly impact the ongoing dialogue regarding peace in Ukraine. Hopes for a peace agreement that considers the interests of all parties are becoming increasingly relevant in the context of the prolonged conflict. Some form of cooperation between the states, according to the leaders, looks optimistic, but real steps will need to be agreed upon in the future.
