Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski believes that other countries should stop payments to Ukrainian refugees, as it negatively affects Ukraine's mobilization potential.
He stated this in an interview with Le Monde.
In his opinion, Kyiv primarily needs equipment and troops. He called the US Congress's delays in passing aid to Ukraine and Ukraine's delays in passing a mobilization law "regrettable".
Sikorski added: "And we are reducing their mobilization potential by providing aid to Ukrainian refugees".
He reminded that in Poland, Ukrainian refugees do not receive social benefits.
According to the minister, if Ukrainian citizens are under EU protection as refugees, they can receive 200 euros per child per month. Meanwhile, in Western Europe, Ukrainians receive other aid.
"This provides a financial deterrent for young men and women who might return home to defend their country. We should not subsidize disobedience," Sikorski stated.
