The Polish Minister of National Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak, announced that the first woman has become a pilot of the F-16 fighter jet in Poland. She received training in the USA and can now operate Polish fighter jets. The woman is currently working at the 32nd Tactical Air Base in Łask. The name of the pilot has not been disclosed.

In addition, another woman is in training and will also be able to pilot the F-16. She is training at the 31st base in Krzesiny.

Poland is actively developing its aviation, including the F-16 fighters, due to the threat posed by Russia to Ukraine. However, currently, Polish troops are not involved in the killing of enemy targets.

Integrating women into previously male-dominated pilot positions is a significant step towards gender representation in the Polish Armed Forces. It reflects Poland's active efforts to improve conditions for women and men in military affairs.
