Russia Named the Condition for Meeting Between Zelensky and Putin.
Spokesman for the Russian dictator Dmitry Peskov expressed his opinion on the upcoming meeting between Volodymyr Zelensky and Vladimir Putin. According to him, all signed memorandums are a preparation for direct negotiations between the presidents.
According to information from Russian media, Peskov stated that the meeting between Zelensky and Putin will only take place after the approval of memorandums developed by the delegations of both countries. He also noted that Ukraine plans to discuss the preparation for direct negotiations between the presidents at the talks in Istanbul, which 'is already underway.'
'All work that needs to be done to coordinate the memorandums is a preparation for the meeting. On this matter, we have unequivocal views. However, without completing this complex work, it is unreasonable to specifically talk about the date of the meeting. Otherwise, at the highest level, this complex and voluminous work will have to be completed.', - explained the dictator's spokesman.
Peskov also stated that today at the negotiations in Turkey, the delegations will discuss the exchange of prisoners, but will be ready to raise any other issues if necessary.
The Kremlin representative was also asked about the expected results of the new round of negotiations.
'Currently, it is clear that it is too early to discuss this. We first need to thoroughly examine the situation; naturally, no one expects easy negotiations. It is obvious that this will be a very difficult conversation. The draft memorandums stand on opposite positions.', - noted Peskov.
Let us remind you that the Ukrainian delegation has already arrived in Turkey for the negotiations scheduled to begin in Istanbul at 19:00. According to Novyny.LIVE, Ukraine will try to discuss not only the issues of returning prisoners of war and deported children during the negotiations but also the possibility of a ceasefire and holding a meeting between the leaders of both countries.
