A new spike of Chikungunya began in 2025, increasing on the islands of the Indian Ocean. The virus is also spreading in Madagascar, Somalia, Kenya, Southeast Asia, and Europe.
In France, approximately 800 cases of the virus have been registered since May 1, linked to travels from other countries or residence in endemic regions.
