Turkey on Peace in Ukraine: Fidan Says Negotiations are Significantly Closer.
According to ТСН: The end of Russia's war against Ukraine and the establishment of lasting peace has become closer than before. This was stated by Hakan Fidan after the meeting of the Coalition of Willing in Paris.
The Turkish minister noted that, despite the conflict lasting already four years, the parties are actively discussing key issues necessary for achieving peace.
“We see that the negotiations are focused on those areas without which it is impossible to talk about stable and lasting peace,” Fidan said.
Fidan emphasized that Turkey is actively participating in the peace process and is contributing to its advancement.
The minister also pointed out that a potential peace agreement would not only lead to an end to hostilities in Ukraine but could also become a document that, in the long term, will define the model of relations between Russia and Europe, as well as outline the framework of Russia's regional policy.
Discussion of Important Issues
Fidan reported that during the negotiations in Paris, mechanisms for monitoring compliance with the ceasefire regime, support for Ukraine’s deterrence, and possible military measures in case of violation of agreements were discussed.
He expressed hope that the conclusion of a peace agreement would occur as soon as possible to stop loss of life and ensure stability in the region.
“After signing the peace agreement, Ukraine will have the opportunity to focus on economic recovery and address internal problems. Turkey is ready to play an important role in the process of economic revival and development,” the Turkish Foreign Minister added.
It was also reported that Emmanuel Macron announced the creation of a coordination center for the interaction of the armies of Ukraine and the coalition. After the meeting of the 'Coalition of Willing', a declaration was officially signed regarding the deployment of Western contingents on Ukrainian territory, which provides for the establishment of multinational forces to ensure security.
This news indicates an intensification of diplomatic efforts towards peace in Ukraine. The progress achieved at the meeting in Paris may become an important step towards stability in the region and the recovery of Ukraine's economy. Considering the new initiatives from international leaders, we are observing positive shifts in the peace negotiations.
